NANOWRIMO – 2024 – Day 23

Behind the Green Door

Back at the negotiating table, Ross has his hands full when photos are displayed of a Pendleton’s death, the son of the current leader.

All hell could break loose, but instead, Michael believes he has finally met an incongruous death.

It’s time to relate everything about the plan Michael had set in place before coming in, the one with little chance of success.

And what got him there over the last few years.

What is interesting to learn…

Personal fiefdoms didn’t work

Mist facilities were owned by billionaires and filled with family friends and people to make it all work for them.

A lot of those fiefdoms used the people as slaves, suffered revolutions, and then died out.  Revolutionaries made poor leaders.

Consequently, whilst their own city was run by paranoia, someone, in the beginning, had the right idea, but over the years, became worried about internal revolt and external invasion.

As well as waiting for the world to implode.

Elsie was the bearer of doomsday predictions

Elsie was going to be the creator of everlasting life.

Elsie was going to create an army of super soldiers.

And…

Elsie was going to build a rocket that would take the remaining survivors into space to find a new home.

What could only be described as Elsie’s ultimate revenge.

It will be worth the wait to read just how she pulled it off.
