Michael knows he’s pushing the envelope.

Management is going to put up with just so much resistance, and that tolerance might extend to their counsellor, too.

Perhaps using Miranda might not have worked in the way management anticipated.  After all, whilst they might consider her to be an advanced robot created by Elsie, they might not know that she has been programmed in a way that benefits Elsie’s agenda rather than theirs.

Michael starts to believe that Miranda just might be more of Elsie than he thought.  But it seems odd that she could have anticipated the only time she could execute whatever scheme she had in mind when he reached Rule 71.

And how little use it would do if he had only a few days left.
